Wash-In Waterproofing

I washed my riding clothes and then sent them through another cycle with Nikwax wash-in waterproof treatment. I hope it works because I'm leaving my big rainsuit behind. Choices. The OEM treatment worked great on my first big road trip, but then I washed them and I've been trying to restore the waterproof properties unsuccessfully with spray-on silicone ever since. If this stuff works I'll be thrilled because it's water-based and comes in a recyclable container instead of an aerosol can. It's a heck of a lot easier and I don't feel like I'm waterproofing my lungs during application, either. Update: Nikwax wash-in waterproofing is killer. It worked great. Highly recommended!
