Black-banded Orange (Epelis truncataria)
Hodges #6321

Mer Bleue Bog

I saw several of these small, day-flying moths at the Mer Bleue boardwalk. This species prefers open coniferous woods and northern peat bogs where the larvae feed on Bearberry and Leather-leaf. The bold black and orange bands across the forewing and hindwing are unique.

Really excellent shot. I've seen them at Mer Bleue but my shots are poor. V
