December 20, 2006

I saw the new wing at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation today. It will be the temporary home for many patients who have had terrible, life-altering accidents. It will also be the home of many resident doctors as well. I had the chance to meet several individuals today, candidates who hope to spend a few years working and learning at this facility. They all had impressive credentials and positive attitudes.
I didn't think that it was that long ago that I was sitting in their seats, hopeful but unsure of my future. I do remember that it was damn scary. I'm sure that they will all do well in their careers and some may do so in this facility. They will breathe new life into the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation just as this new wing will bring new energy to Kessler.

Thanks Ed. It's where I worked for a bunch of years but I'm at the Children's Hospital now (not as interesting of a building but I think it's more fun!). I do go to this building now and then to teach.
Hope all is well!
