We left the most beautiful setting this morning. Jack and Denise have been hosts to thousands of fortunate individuals during their tenures as innkeepers of the Mattey House which have lasted for over a decade. We spent the day sampling the Pinot Noir’s of Oregon’s Wine Country…how civilized. Then, we pointed the car west towards the coast.

We arrived in Newport this evening, a busy beach community. There were wax museums, souvenir shops and many other things to avoid. We pulled into the “budget motel in town” which wasn’t a 100 year old Queen Anne style Victorian. There are all sorts of adventures.
