I had a rough day yesterday. On the way back from upstate New York, I started feeling funky. First it was the chills, then the nausea, and finally the fatigue. Just to not let me get off easily, the traffic was insane! I did make it home in one piece without tossing my cookies.
Alice went out to get me a thermometer. It was a nifty, electronic one that beeps 3 times to let you know that you have a fever (1 time if you are fine). I stuck it under my tongue (my preferred method of temperature-taking), waited the prescribed minute and listened for the beep. Beep-beep-beep...the nifty machine confirmed what I had already known...I was sick. But now I have a number to tell me how sick. 101.6 F.
I appreciate Alice for taking care of me and buying me yet one more toy. I still prefer the one that I stick into my steak to make sure it is perfectly medium-rare, but this one was pretty useful at the time.
