This shows a typical zodiac landing as the zodiacs each take 9-11 passangers and bring them to shore. The ship had enough zodiacs so that all passengers could be in zodiacs at the same time for locations where we did zodiac cruises among icebergs. At our landings, the Quark staff would mark our trails for us to use to avoid sensitive areas and avoid walking on "Penguin trails". However, as soon as they did, the penguins would also start using our trails. The "reception committee" of curious penguins was frequent, and while we could not approach them closer than 15 feet, they did not follow the same rule and frequently would come right up close to you. On our trails we would often have to slowly follow penguins using our trail, or stop and wait as some crossed or came straight towards us and then finally stopped and had to decide what to do when we didn't move. They would eventually move off the trail.
