Turnings

Turning a new object, especially a bowl, takes many separate operations. Starting from scratch means starting with a tree, cutting some wood from it that seems promising, then waiting six months to a year before turning the wood into usable lumber. Next comes preparing a blank, cutting, gluing and mounting on the lathe. Then turning and finishing.
