Under the chuppah

During the Jewish wedding the bride and groom stand underneath the chuppah, a canopy supported by four poles. It symbolizes their dwelling together and bringing the wife into the groom's home. The chuppah is of great importance, and occasionally, the wedding ceremony itself is referred to as the chuppah.
