Be Kind To Animals

Awareness Challenge - May 2011 - #1

I took this photo on Saturday April 30th... but I wanted to add it to the Be Kind to Animals theme

Derby (Zach and Charli's cat) came home with a badly burnt paw and oesophagus - we think she might have been intentionally poisoned.
She spent all Easter holidays at the Vets, and is now very happy to be home.
And so are all her family happy to see her home, even though their bank account is now 4 figures lower...

Poor sweet little cat....!
Makes me reminding of all the bad souvenirs of both of my passed away girl-cats.... :-(

poor Derby, hope she will recover from all these bad things happen to her
and it is pure love of your family wanting to pay a big amount for her veterinary costs
hope they get the "b.....ds" who have done this to her!

I'm so sorry that she was hurt. I hope no one did that to her. That's why I keep mine inside. Too many bad things out there including Coyotes here. She's so beautiful!

Oh my! What a poor baby and I agree that it is terrible to think someone may have INTENTIONALLY done this to an innocent being. I can see where they must've done some medical procedures on her other leg.

I hope that she's eating okay. I spoonfed one cat stage 1 baby food (turkey or chicken - her favorite) when she wasn't well.

I'm voting as I think it's a spectacular entry for our scavenger hunt but I am not happy that one presented itself to you. I'd rather Derby be healthy. V.

What a beautiful cat and I am glad to hear she is recovering. People can be so cruel. My Mom lost a cat to poisoning a few years ago. I keep mine inside these days but I know that doesn't work for all cats!

POOR cat. Oh dear. I'm glad he'll be okay. I don't let my cats outside unless I am there to supervise. Too many bad things can happen. But bad things can happen indoors too... my friends cat died from a burned esophagus. The cat walked through the fireplace after those paper-packaged logs were burned. The logs have a chemical on them that the cat licked off of the paws. Couldn't be saved. Sad.

Poor baby ! I do hope she is healing well.. so awful to think someone did this, how awful to force something like this on a helpless animal. Hugs to Derby..
