A November Treat

I found this beautiful butterfly in my backyard yesterday. It seemed an odd time of year for such a find but I don't know a lot about butterflies.

Very pretty! I hope he or she makes it south soon.

It's a monarch, delaying its flight to Cape May, it seems. Nice late find. V

The wings look like stained glass in that lovely light. This is late, but there seem to always be some lingering, perhaps to their detriment. I hope it is able to move south! V

This monarch is a bit late with its migration; hopefully it won't freeze to death! I saw one in my yard last week!
