I've been handing out a lot of flyers for our English classes around the Nagaokakyo JR Station. One of the main reasons for this that we hope to attract some of the employees of some of the companies which are near this station to our business English classes. These include Panasonic, Mitsubishi Paper, Mitsubishi Electric and Murata. In fact this building is Murata's global corporate headquarters which is visible from almost everywhere in Nagaokakyo. So maybe you've never heard of Murata, but your probably using some of their products right now without even knowing it. You see Murata is the worlds biggest manufacturer of electronic components, like capacitors, resistors, inductors, sensors, resonators, and power supplies. They also spend a lot on R&D, and their efforts have greatly reduced size of mobile phones (“cell phones” as my American friends call them). They have factories all around the world, but they have chosen Nagaokakyo as their corporate headquarters, because this is the place where they started from. I've taken quite a few photos of this building so expect a gallery on this building at a later date. If you want to find out more about Murata please visit http://www.murata.com
