Maj. John Fielding Milhollin, CSA

Maj. Milhollin was killed in the Civil War and his body brought back to Cassville, Ga., and buried across the road from his home. Then Sherman's troops came to Cassville and burned the home and his widow took the six children and camped for a while under a shelter built over the grave of her late husband. A few days later the oldest boy, John, 14, found a deserted slave cabin for his family to live in. Times were tough then.
