The "reel" drama of the old Jax Theater at Jacksonville, Ga., could not match the "real" drama going on in the streets of the town. As a boy I got a distinctly different perspective on things when I actually saw a local lawman have to shoot an intoxicated citizen in the foot (who was advancing with a knife). And of all times, it was on a Sunday morning after church. It was definitely different from the action on the silver screen at the movie house. The healing took longer. (See article.)
