I had a few tomato plants left over from the seedlings I started under fluorescent lights. Couldn't find anyone to give them to, so I haphazardly planted them on the slope in front of our house...a slope that in the past has given up more tomatoes to rabbits, squirrels, turkeys and other critters, than to us. This year, for some odd reason, the critters have barely touched them. Since the plants weren't staked I put those upendeed plastic pots out there to raise the tomatoes off the ground.
