One of the mantids that has been released on a zinnia leaf where I found aphids. It measures approximately 13cm and has been thriving on the plant for about 3 days. It is not easy photographing these tiny creatures. I've found it best to use the Fuji at full wide angle with flash in macro mode. Locking focus is difficult, as is seeing the creature on the lcd. I'm extremely nearsighted, so I take off my glasses, press the brightness control on the top cursor next to the lcd. I place the + sign in the middle of the lcd on a point of contrast between the mantis and leaf. It doesn't always lock. Many of my pictures are out of focus! I throw those away.
