_MG_2732 Baby

Wasn't getting the feather detail I wanted at ISO 800 (an oversight) so I made the picture darker and they look a little better. My new neighbor's African Grey. I didn't know they had red tail feathers! She is in a screen room here, enjoying the sounds of neighborhood birds. (Flash bounced off screenroom ceiling)

Enjoying the sounds of neighborhood birds, huh? Won't be long before she is making the sounds of neighborhood birds! I know, I used to have an African Grey, and my mother still has one. They learn sounds around them FAST! Beautiful picture, Isabel.

Lovely bird and photograph!

You have to specify African Grey with Red Racing Stipe. ;-) Nice shot and really like the screen in background, looks like a studio background somewhat.

Very nice. The screen actually gives a nice texture to the background.

A nice shot Isabel. I find that the Greys present a difficult lighting problem, it is not easy to get the detail. My best results have been when I used bounce flash off of the ceiling and my 50mm 1.8 lens.

I think they are a stunning bird and yes they do have red tail feathers! I love their eyes too!
