_MG_6883 Moth

No noise reduction but a lot of window cleaning with the rubber stamp and fill tool!
This one reminds me of a paper lace doily.

Canon EOS 20D
1/40s f/8.0 at 90.0mm iso800, 13 watt fluorescent desklamp full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I guess we all thought the same thing, antique lace! Beautiful!

The color is amazing too. Looks like silver in some parts. Really pretty.

What's so amazing about macrophotography is when you see the images on your screen you see far more than you see with the naked eye or the viewfinder.
Today I was photography a tiny grasshopper and I saw that he was rubbing his legs on the petals of an impatiens and then licking them off...so they don't always chew. It was absolutely fascinating. (That was through the viewfinder. I don't think I would have noticed what he was doing with the naked eye.) You can see that image here: http://www.pbase.com/isabel95/image/47275516

You are right ... just like lace. Too much fun. At least by taking photos we really do stop and "see" things in a new light. Great shot.

Do you think this is one of the caterpillars you've been seeing?

Moths on windows are great subjects. They tend to stay put, whereas butterflies are busy flittering from blossom to blossom.

Isabel I promise that was my exact thought before I read your discription! I thought "this looks like an antique paper doily!" Great capture! Peeka
