I was real happy with this conversion method which I just learned about after Daniel Chui posted a link to the method on the Sony Forum. http://www.gormanphotography.com/gorman.html Look under "Learn" if you'd like to see how it was done. Beegie is a ginger (red) cat and it is very hard to know just how much contrast to put into an image.
