Accident

Trying out my Sunpak 5000AF* flash for the first time with my 20D I accidentally severely overexposed a pic of my new kitty. Decided it would make a good sketch. Nothing much done except conversion to grayscale, some unsharp mask to increase the contrast and a bit of sandstone texture.
*The Sunpak isn't entirely compatible with the 20D. You can't change the ISO when it is on the camera.

Canon EOS 20D
1/125s f/4.5 at 50.0mm iso100 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Absolutely love this one Isabel! When I get back to Sydney I will take more pics of Ginger and try this technique!

this is fabulous! It looks like a sketch. It may have started as an accident, just look what one can do with a bit of inspiration.

It may have started as an accident, but it certainly is a stunning sketch. Lovely composition.

WOW I can only hope someday my accidents are this beautiful. I would be printing this and hanging it on the wall.
