P8300030 Cool looking tussock moth caterpillar

I'd never seen one like it before and it was almost too dark to focus, but the good ole Olympus 60 macro was up to the job, aided by the camera's built-in flash. Have you ever seen one like this? Google to the rescue! It's a "white marked tussock moth caterpillar".

The moth into which it morphs is quite ordinary looking except for some crazy antennae:

I’ve never seen one before. Great find and excellent macro work. Cool red head. Does it have red eyes, too. What a marvelous insect. Vote
