Update: While viewing some videos on YouTube, I came across one with Leon Theremin playing his creation. (The video above is not of Theremin.) One of the comments under the video inferred that he was also a spy, and I learned through Wikipedia that he had invented a listening device that had been planted in the American Embassy in Russia in 1945.
