For weeks we've been trying to diagnose a flapping sound coming from the front of our car. I thought perhaps it was the front license plate which had been dented when a dog hit it (She was okay.) Today the noise got much worse, so much so that we heard additional dragging. We cancelled our plans to continue on to Weaverville to visit the Stoney Knob Cafe and instead went to Zen Sushi in Asheville. When we got out of the car and bent on our knees to check the undercarriage, we could see that something had fallen in front and completely covered the area through which light would come, had that assembly not fallen. We called Triple A for assistance and they said it would be at least 75 minutes before a man could come and he couldn't do anything unless we made an arrangement to pay him - noticed a Valvoline service station across the street and figuring they had wells, they might be able to help us - and so they did - pulling the part(s) off. No charge. This is Michael, the manager of the shop, holding what they removed. Very nice guy!
