Yikes! 78 degrees on March 1!
The colors are very muted so I'm not sure whether or not it's an Eastern Fence Lizard, which I've seen many times in this location.
Lizards hibernate in the winter, but will come out on a warm day to feed.
Ricky ALMOST stepped on this one just as I noticed him. Scooped Ricky up and returned him inside and grabbed the camera body that had my macro lens it. These lizards tend not to be as skittish as the skinks I often see, so I was able to get lots of shots.
