the squirrel was about 18 feet from where I was standing, on the other side of a sliding glass door. Normally, I would use my 300mm lens to capture the squirrel. Since the 45mm was on the camera I decided to see just how close it would get me - not very - and how much I could crop the image and still have some detail. I was surprised at how much detail was still there.
