Prom Day Before

This image was posted on the 7D etc. forum at dpreview and a comment was made that the background was too busy. I felt that such a pretty girl deserved to get that taken care of. I am not an expert at hair extraction, so had to do a lot of fixing of that. Also moved the "deer in the headlight" glints from the flash and toned down some overly brights spots in addition to a few other tweaks. The edge of the dog's fur was perhaps too feathered from my selection. See "Next".

I like the main subject: the girl and her dog, but the background is a bit distracting... Me too don't like to extract subject from their bground but I'd apply a lense blur in pshop to simulate a good depth of field or I'd simply blur the bground and then apply a layer mask.... Besides, I'd also darken the bground and direct the main light on the girl's & dog's face... That's just my opinion :)))
