He has been coughing for a long time without spitting up any hairballs so we've been working on diagnosing his problem. At first my veterinarian suspected asthma and prescribed theophylline and that did help with the coughing but it pepped him up a bit too much. We had a blood panel done and it showed some readings that indicated possible cardiomyopathy, so today he had a cardiac ultrasound at the office of Dr. Julie McCormick, in Pisgah Forest (near Brevard) North Carolina. Her very kind assistant here is calming Louie. I think he must be a cat whisperer, as is Dr. McCormick.
