That's the thai basil. I have been pinching them off but decided I really wasn't crazy about the flavor...and that's the pot that the nest is in, so I don't want to remove the cover. The plant on the left is regular basil, and as you can see it's well pinched off!

Just a hint from someone who has grown a ton of basil. Pinch those end flower/seed looking things off every few days and it will bush out even more. It also keeps the stems from getting woody.
