Three puppeteers are required to operate a Banraku puppet. The novice (center man)
spends 10 years learning to control the puppet's feet. The more advanced student
(right side of picture) spends 10 years learning to control the puppet's left arm.
The master (left side of picture) controls the puppet's right arm and head.
