Katherine, I don't now my trees well but i am told that this was hard-wood counrty until it was, well, logged out in the early part of the nienteen hundreds. I don't even know if a cyprus is a hardwood or a softwood, but what ever it is it's hardy.
I just went out today and it is now about three feet under water.

obviously a cypress tree stump. it'll last forever, which is why it make great outdoor furniture.. I'm proud of this stump for lasting.

Very nice b&w study, its odd how it is obviously dead but the roots look like they are alive, almost ike tentacles.

This is very nice on the eyes Richard! The story is great and your photo gives life back to this good old stump. I love the mist surrounding it. As if too comfort it, reassure it, that it will be underwater again soon.

Beautiful b&w treatment, Richard. It has a real vintage feel to it.

Ephemeral. I like the foggy topside, with the graceful form of the wood, and the texture of the rock at the bottom..
