Glen Coe Last Light

After spending the entire day driving round Glen Coe, Glen Etive and Rannoch moor with Ian Cameron in the rain, we gave up to return to base. As we came into the glen to decend to sea level, we both gasped in amazement as the edge of the weather front was visible. Luckily Ian had excellent location knowledge and he stopped at this stream within 2 minutes. We both used GND filters to balance the sky. The Canon 5D's low noise and high dynamic range sensor really paid off in such tricky lighting conditions, resulting in shadow detail being retained.

It is like this part of Scotland is prone for this sort of pictures. I was returning from Fort Bill and been caught same vild colours by Spean Bridge Commandos Memorial. I have never seen anything like that in Central Europe. Perhaps Scottish rubbish weather and northern hemisphere is cause?
