The sarcophagus of St. John of Nepomuk inside the St. Vitus Cathedral is a 1721 Baroque monument cast in silver designed by Fischer von Erlach.
Like his statue on the Charles Bridge, he is portrayed with a halo of five stars.

The traditional legend that he was the queen’s confessor was declared unfound by the Vatican on 1961.
His canonization was a move by the Jesuit as a Counter-Reformation ploy to elevate him as a national religious hero over Protestant forerunner Jan Hus, who was burn at the stake as a heretic in 1415. Hus’ monument is in the center of Old Town Square.
