CHALLENGE - On the move

I now have the utmost respect for Laine, how she can take photos from a moving car! I stood
camera poised at our front gate trying valiently to catch a car in a frame as they zipped
past our place this morning. I had so many empty frames! Here's one I caught, and another
that I rather liked the reflections in the side windows of...

Panning is not an easy skill when combined with focusing and framing. Start wide and zoom in while your tracking prior to pressing the shutter. It works for me from time to time - just ;-<

It seems you have discovered a new personal challenge, Yvonne. Interesting commentary. Maybe I'll have to give this a try too.

Nice shot, but next time, just add a stop sign at your drive. It will be a lot easier that way.

Ah, but from a moving car the other car is moving more slowly, relatively speaking. So you had the harder job! Try standing on a bend next time... :-)

nicely done! patience pays!

from your shutter speed info, i think it's adequate. i think this is a fun exercise. :)

Nice sharp shot Yvonne!

You should put a speed limit sign post beside the road. I would suggest 10 miles per hour.

Very nice.

shutter speed was way to fast
try something slower like a second or 2

I can picture you there trying to get pictures...they probably thought you were going to turn them into the cops for speading.

hehehe...you need to tell Luca you live on the side of a mountain range :>))
You did well...especially with the black. You must have lots of water to have a clean car !!
Luca Zanoni27-Sep-2007 09:22
very strange...
the road seems to turn right,
but the signal say "turn left"
...so ?
;-)

This is a nice shot! Cars and squirrels are often too fast for me, too! I see that you have left side traffic? One must be very careful when coming from a right side trafficed country, either as pedestrian or driver!
