Condensation Towers 20/05

Richmond Vale, NSW view map

Richmond Main Colliery, south of Kurri NSW. These dilapidated towers stand testimony to the jewel in the J&A Brown Colliery network. The mine produced electricity for its operations and these towers returned condensed water back to the holding pond. The mine was once the highest daily producer of coal in NSW. It closed in 1967. It is currently the site of the Richmond Vale Railway Museum.

A detailed history of the colliery can be found here.

A view of the pond is below (taken 5 years prior)

Classic, just found your shot in a search for photos from this lens. Just picked up the ,Pentax smc P-F 35-105mm f/4-5.6 for a song on eBay. It is a very uncommon lens but yet a stunning lens. Can not wait to try it out on my K10D.
