This is what drew me to the scene.

The play of light in Tuscany is one of its most
amazing features. The exposure I used and the
limitations inherent sometimes, in how lenses see
high-contrast situations, washed out the sky and
averaged out everything.

As a beginner in Photoshop, I brought back the
details of what I saw. Mainly, I selectively
masked to do different 'burning in' and highlighting
of what is there, closer to what I saw, which was gorgeous.
It might seem a more intense green to some, but Tuscany's
like that!

This is from the Montepulciano - Italy set.

Remarkable how you did this. I'm just stumbling onto this new page, and am totally amazed. You, dear Andrys, in a chunk of your heart, are a *teacher*!!! A new insight into my friend. Extraordinary input you give us all.

Matt, what a neat and rather beautiful rationale! Yah, it's how I felt seeing it.

I think the green is not overdone. It probably is greener or more intense than what your eye saw, but I think part of the art is to portray what you felt, not what you saw. In this case, the saturation and brightness in the grass matches the "emotion" of the sun breaking through the clouds.

WOW! there is quite a difference in the two images. What a beautiful scene! You have done a wonderful job.

And you made MY day! Thanks a lot for the feedback. This is how I remembered it but I
feared I was overdoing it. You made me feel better about it with your explanation.

Andrys- You may have been a beginner in Photoshop but you corrected a flat, somewhat "typical" image into a very alluring and uplifting photograph. Though you saw and know the true colors and illumination best, the grass looks very natural in such an open sky, filtered-light situation. This improved photograph has made my day.
Many Thanks-Paul
