I met Teddi at the Lower Devils Lookout on day 1 of my short PCT thruhike. She had hiked south from Canada, starting May 1, 1976. She is 48 in this photo, and she hiked to Mexico, becoming the first woman to hike the PCT solo and southbound. A most amazing woman!

The peak in the background is Preston Peak, the valley below is the Klamath River, and the clearcut above the river is about 19,000 acres! It is the "1966 Indian Creek" fire salvage run amuk, and may be the largest clearcut in the lower 48 states!

I now live in Happy Camp, just behind the ridge with the huge clearcut, and in front of Preston Peak.
