The X-Ray
9-18-06

I got that dreaded phone call today from the school nurse... My daughter had fallen from the monkey bars.
Ended up at the Orthopedic Urgent Care.
She has a buckle fracture...10 days with a splint.
Thank God it was not worse.
And so, it begins! 3 weeks into kindergarten....wonder how many of these will be my future PaDs!!!
Hopefully, this will be the only one!

A special thanks to Mom and Craig for being there for support.

I know this is blurry, but I had to be quick and this was the best outta the 3 that I took.

Oh No! The dreaded call we all hope to avoid. Glad it was not as serious as it could have been. Wait till she gets back to school; she'll be a hero with the cast for all to sign!

I'm glad to hear she'll be ok. I went through this a few years ago when a dag bit one of my kids. Sure is nerve wracking.

blurry is good... it adds a sense of drama? Sounds like your day was dramatic enough. Glad it wasn't worse.

0h..this 0ne brings back memories! My Alycia (she's 18 now) did the Same thing in Kindergarten....but she managed a break ".....rare in small children...usually seen after bar room brawls..."
She looks Very Brave...and now you're allowed to start sprouting gray hairs....V0TE~*

Okay let's get those kind of phone calls out of the way before she gets the keys to the car.

Great "Scrapbook of Life" shot, Jen.
Laurie and I wish her a speedy recovery.
However, she is going to be quite popular with that splint : )

Glad you took this. If only my mum and dad could have made a portfolio of all my 'incidents' :-)
Take care, little one.

Hope she realizes now that only REAL monkeys can
do certain things on monkey bars.
Good to know she'll mend soon and be back to normal
quickly.

...something to look back on in the book of her life.

~ V ~ (especially for how well you handled this)

Aww bet she was brave? Good luck to her and get well soon! Great shot by the way for a quick snap in a hospital , we would have been escorted out in ours!
