Sunstar Cove Bay

Cove Bay, Hopeman, Moray, Scotland.

Cove Bay and its wonderful stoney beach taken at that precise moment when the sun just emerges from behind the clouds. The small aperture causes a sunstar to be rendered, yet the sun is so low in the sky and its strength diluted to such an extent that flare is more or less eliminated.

Pentax 67 II ,45mm lens,Fujichrome Velvia
F22 at 10 sec's, 0.6ND grad across the sky and 0.3ND grad angled diagonally to cover both sea and sky permitting a balanced exposure and detail in sea, sky and stones. full exif
