Blue Pine

Randolphs Leap, Moray, Scotland.

I had seen this shapely scots pine sitting alone on an island in a fast flowing river but it had always been difficult to isolate it from the background trees, the solution came in the different colours of direct and reflected light. The snow covered tree turned blue in the overcast reflection of a clear winter sky.
