Frosted Oasis

Dava Moor, Scotland.

A frozen lochan high on Dava Moor begins to groan finally cracking the ice sheet with a gunshot explosion as the suns heat stresses the ice. -19C.

Breathtaking landscape and photograph. The square format is well filled. Large depth of field. Superb level of details provided by the 67 mid format. Great color saturation (long live the slide) and color combination (a patch of warm color in the centre of the square format surrounded mainly by the cool blue of the water, sky and frozen vegetation). For me this image is both pleasing and inspiring: in the midst of a frozen sorrow everyone can find a warming soul.
