Since 1973 the sub-species of Myrtle Warbler and Audubon Warbler have been classified as one - the Yellow-rumped Warbler. Efforts are underway to separate them back into the two sub-species as they were pre-1973. Thus, this bird would be classified as a 'Myrtle Warbler' in the future. The Myrtle Warbler has a white throat whereas the Audubon Warbler has a yellow throat.
