March 23 2006:
The Empty Paint Pot

I nearly didn’t do Bev and Lee’s challenge today “Celebrating Spring”, as I’m no great lover of photographing flowers and animals, and don’t have any patience to catch birds. I had a completely different idea for today, but that really didn’t work. But then I discovered this old pot, which actually had Ronseal in it, not paint. I do suffer from diyphobia so the fact that the pot was empty had a certain appeal.

So I’m celebrating spring, as other people will be doing DIY and not me!

Fantastic capture. Diyphobia? I'll have too look that one up. Super lighting and colors and shadow.

I thought you were going to call it 'Scraping the Barrel' ;-)

Never heard of Ronseal.
I use a lot of paint too.
What-sit?

For me, DIY stopped when photography started. No time to do both!
Interesting lighting. A torch under the can, and then a light from above perhaps? Great colours too.

Very nice textures and colors. Wouldn't I know what it is after reading you text, I would be puzzled!

Well if you don't have 'spring' in your step, you had better 'hop' to it :>)

God! It took me a while to get what diyphobia means!
I'm defenitely Diyphobiac! So now tell us how you are celebrating the spring,
if you do not shoot birds, animals, flowers and do not DIY? ;)
I must add, I would have never guessed what your PAD was and I really like the colors.
I don't know how you always get those splendid deep colors, I never get anywhere close to those.

Great "away from the mainstream" shot for the Challenge. Love the detail in the bottom of the paint can. Very interesting and well done.

Unusual shot lovley idea,I love the cracks in the paint! I couldnt find any flowers out here, so had to resort to a twig leaf for the Spring thing desparate EH!
