You did it, Mark! Thanks, I was just thinking about putting it in Pending and feeling badly about it. I am happy I don't have to do that! ~Sharon

I don't think whatever you did worked, Mark. This image is still at 190KB. You can check this easily by clicking on "original" under your camera info. When it is 150KB the "original" image should fit on the screen like it does at "large" now. Just ask if you need help, there are lots of friendly people here! ~Sharon

Great concept Mark, I like it.

...dork here...

Forgot to log out and then post...sorry...
ctfchallenge26-Feb-2006 08:36
...I hope this works...(the image should be at 148.0 kb) :)

Thanks for all the comments (feels good to be part of something again). Elips is dead-on with her analysis on why I picked B/W...the original title was supposed to be "color...blind?" But couldn't get the "?" in the file name...lol

For the color requests, admittedly I feel like a loser because I shot this in B/W, vs shooting normal and applying a B/W filter in post (not really big in touching up anyway...partly cuz I'm not as 'photo-knowledgable'), other part is I'm lazy. Overall, I feel I have a good eye, but with practice and more feedback like this I'll get better...

Mark, you need to add your name to this image and reduce it to 150KB or less and repost it. It is now 190KB. I will put it in pending Sunday evening if it is not done by then. If you need help to reduce the size or add your name, just ask, there are a lot of people here who would be glad to help. Here is a link to the resizing tutorial just in case you need it:http://www.pbase.com/ctfchallenge/image/28212120 ~Sharon

Mark , Great concept here. I too would like to see it in color.

The dimensions of the image, somewhat too big to be enjoyed at it's fullest, have to scroll around a lot. Perhaps you can resize it down to less than 800pixels on the longest side? once you resize an image it might need a bit of sharpening.

btw, Welcome to CTF :)

I agree - give this a boost of contrast and it will be very powerful! Great suggestion CJ jano

I think this is a great idea and nice composition but I too would like to either see it in color or brighter with more contrast. If it were in color, it would look like a rainbow with the crayons in that order :-) CJ
Rod 25-Feb-2006 13:48
I like that aspect too Sharon, but the crayons look very grubby in B&W. Maybe a boost of contrast might help.

I like this in b&w because this is the Typography challenge. You have to "read" the colors to know what sort of line they are drawing. Actually, it is very clever! Good work, Mark! If you would like some help getting your name on the image just let us know! ~Sharon

""but gave my crayolas away to the kiddies "" Made me fall off me chair laughing. Great line Jano:-)

Polite maybe - but when I first viewed the image my first thought was ..."this is different", which gave me an interest in it - it lacks the color I wish was there. I do think a color version would be great as well and may be more powerful. Actually the thought went through my head to do a pic similiar to this...but gave my crayolas away to the kiddies :( jano
Rod 24-Feb-2006 21:37
Yes with the shot as is it must be in colour. I think Jano is just being polite:-) Good concept Mark:-)

Interesting concept, Mark, but I'll bet the color version is more striking. (Sorry, Jano.)

This image is oversized and also needs a photog's name.... I like the b&w treatment. jano
