Thanks Brent,
I felt it was necessary to include the original for fear that people might not realize that this really does have a false color applied. -- Bob K.

Good grief, Bob! This is wonderful. I now see faces in the trees and hear snow falling. Truly an amazing picture! Thanks for the original - it helps with the menat transport. Brent

This is so clever. I can't believe how you've managed to extract this from the normally coloured original. what an imagination!
Flick.

Thanks Sue,
Gee and all this time people have been telling me that I have no imagination.

Thanks Adrian,
I had just happened into the kitchen and looked out the window and noticed that it was snowing. I then noticed how much the thin layer of snow on the window resembled a row of trees. Of course since this is a false color assignment, I naturally thought that making the tree color green would be appropriate. I guess that I should start keeping that window clean since the dirty spots didn't do me any favors. BTW I do like your 'fighting words' version better than the one that you replaced. Very interesting effect and strong statement. Thanks -- Bob K.

g'day Bob - what Gerard said, in spades. I was taken with this image the first time i saw it, and would not in my wildest dreams have considered such a beginning - kudos for you having seen this result in your 'minds eye'. I'd almost be tempted to add a few more stars to this forest scene, and print your own Christmas cards. thanks heaps. adrian

Thank you Gerard,
The original is just a quick conversion using RSP and has received no other pp at all. Lots of hot pixels due to the 15 second exposure. Final version is a crop with lots of burning to remove the lights from across the road and a substantial amount of cloning to remove the majority of hot pixels. Used PSP 9's chrome effect followed by color development using color balance on a layer so I could remove the color effect from the foreground. Sharpened with Focus Magic at two different stages in the process. Hardest part was trying to get an acceptable focus. Again thanks. -- Bob K.
