Laura Milholland

San Francisco, CA

A little sparrow soaking up the midday sun.
Although this shot is a little overexposed, I still decided to put it up.
I did underexpose by 2 full stops, but still got some clipping. I was just
going to manual settings when a flock of birds came by and scared him off. :/

Closer shot at: http://www.pbase.com/milholland_l/image/45649428

1/100s f/6.5 at 72mm iso-100

other sizes: small medium original auto

Nice capture of a brief blissful moment. I like the leading lines and the touch of color.

I like the lines in this photo - all leading to the main point of interest. The slight overbrightness emphasizes that he's in the sun for a reason.

A very relaxed little fellow having a midday nap. Great against the dark background. Bea.

I really like this one too, Laura- agree with previous comments. Sometimes what the picture says is more important than "perfect exposure". Cindy C

Surprising picture of a bird generally very active. The overexposure give the impression of heat and sun that is why this little guy is quiet. MichelT

How sweet is not this snoozing sparrow.Good composition, the greens make a good scenery and the purple flowers give a fresh brushstroke.
