I'm a bit slow... in looking over all the photos before voting, I just realized I've been there :-)

Striking, meserizing and a bit dizzying. I think I'll sit down. (Oh, I am.)

Well actually I support the Swans.
But that day was our first visit to an AFL match at the MCG and I had booked seats through Ticket 7 before I flew down.
We went into Rebel Sport and bought a Melbourne Beany and Scarf and then went to the ground and sat behind the goals looking towards the members, right next to a few St.Kilda fans.
We had a great time apart from being hit on the back of the head by the football.
I must say though the Spirit of the spectators was enlighting with St. Kilda fans actually applauding Melbourne.
Now if that had been a Sydney Rugby League match I probably would have received some sort of abuse!

I think anyone who ever visited Melbourne Central with a camera in their hand got a shot similar to this. And why wouldn't they? It's gotta be one of the most interesting and photogenic scenes in Melbourne.
Eric, so which was "your" team? My kids are all Saints supporters.

Damn you Gayle!......I've got that same shot and took it when the centre was closed for renovation.
I even remember who was playing that day St. Kilda vs Melbourne and Melbourne won and a football hit me in the back of the head when it bounced off the face of a stand...................now where was I, nice shot..........damn!

Gayle... This is a magnificent shot, very similar to the one I took of the tower, which you can find on my pbase site (under the architecture gallery)... Though yours is much better!

Nugar, the Shot Tower is a heritage listed building in Melbourne. When a new shopping precinct was to be built on the site, the tower was incorporated into the design. It now houses speciality shops and a restaurant at the base. It was originally a factory which produced lead shot for guns. The lead was melted at the top of the tower, then dropped down the shaft to form the sphere shapes. It operated as a shot factory from 1889-1961.

Interesting image, can you tell us more about the place? It seems like a tower inside a tower?
