This is another photo captured after driving around for quite a while. The chances were I would have photographed something rural, like an old building or a horse. In fact, I turned down a small lane hoping to photograph a run-down pub that I had been in once or twice, but in fact it had already been demolished! I was just turning the car round in an adjacent yard when I saw this vintage car, and the driver then got in and started the beast up!
But its not the subject matter or the unxpectedness that makes this my special image for May. Its the treatment. I had used Diffuse Glow earlier in the month and I really liked it, but if the image has bright white in it, it can sometimes spoil it. Whilst I love the effect here, especially with the shadow underneath the car, I should have cloned out the small white bricks in the background as these glow rather too much. But that's all part of the learning process!
