World War II Memorial

We visited the memorial the night before it opened to the public and sat there for quite a while.
Infact, we also met with some WWII veterans who came down with their grandchildren that night.
Almost all of them we talked to had the same thing to say: 'Its about time'.

This is probably the newest memorial in DC. Opened to public around April 2004, this wonderful
memorial is dedicated to the soldiers of World War II.
Each pillar represents a distinct state of the US, inscribed with their names and decorated
with wreaths. Each pillar is connect by bronze sculpted ropes signifying unity.

The whites on these last 3 photos
make them so crisp. Excelent!
