Linda's home from work early and it's the start of the long Easter weekend. We take the opportunity to give the dogs a run up at Crowthorn Wood, and I get to try out my new monopod. And the new tele-zoom of course! I'm trying to get my telephoto technique sorted out. I got so fed up with getting fuzzy, unsharp pics from long lenses, and from what I see and read on the net, I'm not the only one! Well, I don't think the 'pods essential at 1/1000 sec, but it can't have done any harm. The original of this shot is just about as sharp and full of detail as you can get. I could have just cropped an 800x533 pixel chunk out of the original, posted that, and it'd still look sharp. (In fact, I did! See the unprocessed crop here) But as you know, I don't crop for PotD! I just wish I'd taken it in landscape orientation... See me taking this shot (or one very much like it) monopod and all, in Linda's gallery, here!
