18th March

I wanted to try the cliched shot of a lighter and even went to the trouble of borrowing an old flint lighter to do so. Then I thought of matches instead. I wanted to catch a match igniting so here it is.

Thanks for all your comments everybody. I did indeed use a lot of matches to get this shot! Extreme patience was called for. I lit the match with a burning match and just as it caught alight, pulled away and took the shot. Simple!

This is indeed excellent, how many matches did you use and how did you ignite it?.

PERFECT timing Geoff. I've been thinking of doing the same shot but had been afraid that it'll prove a waste of time (with my terrible hand-to-eye cordination). Love the setup as well
Guest 18-Mar-2004 19:45
Yes - it's the timing ... in that the end is only half ignited? How mant matches did you get through?? ;)) Nicely done Geoff!
