Snowmelt and Sandstone

This photograph was taken from nearly the same position as the image “In a Zion Side Canyon” elsewhere in this gallery. The meltwater which draped itself down this staircase of sandstone was an irresistible subject for a photograph, but was surprisingly difficult to capture due to the positioning of the water and the difficulty in getting the camera in a favorable location. I ended up using a longer focal length to compress the image a bit, and had to use quite a slow exposure with a small aperture to get the adequate depth of field.

Nice shot. I find it fascinating how the left "stream" is different colors.

A terrific natural abstract...well worth the extra effort!

Like a painter of Nature you perpetuated for us this beautiful photo, bringing the texture of the sand stone, traces of water and reflection of the blue sky above.
With your comments above it seems that everyone can get it, but you, Brian, have the added value of an artist with a sensitive eyes and spirit.
